Our company began as a single small business in North Mankato, Minnesota. Our story started in 1959, when Glen Taylor was looking for a way to support his family while he went to school to become a teacher. Bill Carlson, owner of Carlson Wedding Services, offered him a job.
Glen loved a challenge. He had ideas to make things better and the drive to get things done. He worked almost every job at the plant, which allowed him to really learn the business. Listening to what his customers wanted, he developed new ways to cut delivery times, improve service and expand the company’s product offerings.
Within 10 years, Glen helped double the size of the company. He was also able to buy a minority share of Carlson Wedding Services. He began making plans to someday buy it, and did in 1975. That single company became the foundation for Taylor Corporation.
Forward-thinking and innovative
Over the years, Glen assembled a passionate leadership team and dramatically expanded the organization’s capabilities. Through organic growth and acquisitions, he took over the wedding industry and led the way in variable data printing, branded communications and personalized marketing, creating numerous industry-changing process innovation.
Taylor Communications was introduced as the go-to market brand strategy for clients who wanted to access the organization’s full scope of services. Today, under the leadership of Glen’s niece, Deb Taylor, our diversified global company continues to grow, delivering an unmatched line of consumer marketing products, services and technologies.
